So, besides Health/Fitness and movies — I have another passion obsession.
And that’s skincare. The natural kind.
How’d this start –you ask?
Well, ’bout two years ago — I came across a website that had a review for the product African Black Soap.
Now, before I go any further — let me tell you there’s different types of this soap. As well as other organic soaps. That can be found in your local healthy store.
I’ve tried a lot of different ones. Such as Goat’s Milk, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Peppermint Soap.
But African Black Soap by Nubian Heritage is my favorite.
I bring this stuff any and everywhere.
Especially when I had two jobs. I’d just throw one of the bars in my bag. And wash up at the first — in order to get ready for my next one.
When I would go to a friend’s house. I would always, always have a bar on me.
Trust me. I’m in love with this bar of soap.
I hope they never discontinue this stuff. It’ll be a crime if they do.
This post is pretty crazy to me cause my skin care history is pretty lackluster.
When I was a kid, I used to have pretty noticeable acne (what teenager hasn’t).
Now, it wasn’t super bad, but enough to have my mom shove Clearasil and other generic brands in my face. I hated it.
I hated using the pads. Or a face mask. Or any other crazy gunk.
I don’t why know why, though. I guess I had a juvenile mind state…
Skincare’s for girls.
I’m a guy — I don’t know need that.
Why do I need to use it everyday.
… All thoughts that would run through my 15 year old head.
Now, that I’m older — early twenties. And trying to attract woman. And get ‘head in life. Grooming has become a priority.
Right next to health/fitness.
It’s a total 180 that I would’ve never happen to me at a earlier age.
Listen to me. I used to wear high socks, wear Mickey Mouse shirts and had no idea what a W-2 was.
Now, I lift around 3x a day, have a beard, and wash my face some super weird soap.
The game has freaking changed.
Guess that’s what they call maturing…
Maturing’s pretty odd, huh?
What’s so Damn Good ‘Bout the Soap?
First of all, I use the soap as a everything.
Body wash, cleanser, exfoliate. The whole shabang. No extra crap needed. And it doesn’t dry on your face like the generic brands.
I was wondering what was up with that.
Why doesn’t zap the moisture from your body?
I looked at the back of the package. And saw two good things:
Coconut oil and Shea butter.
These are two ingredients I’ve had a lot of experience with.
And all I gotta say is that these are the key to anti aging (beside hyaluronic acid — should do a post on this, maybe later).
The benefits of these two are long and wonderful:
- UV protection
- Moisturizes the skin for hours on end — no more dry skin.
- Helps skin problems like ezema and such
- Moisturizes hair.
- Can be used to lose weight.
- And many more.
When I first looked up the benefits — I thought holy hell . This is awesome.
And I started to really use the soap. Buying different soaps. Trying different ones out.
And I’ve stayed with African Black Soap ever since.
It cleared up my acne, made me less dry, and is my foundation in anti – aging.
The third thing about the soap is that it’s pretty darn cheap. I can get 4 bars for 10 bucks. And it lasts for a good long while.
So, if skin care is your thing, then you can find it in Amazon, Target, or the old Indian guy on the corner.
Highly recommended.
Note: That’s a affiliate link. I get a commission — if you buy — which you should consider. It’s good stuff.
